20.25 Dinner at 19.00.
For the first time at meals on this course, seconds were offered.
Desserts on the top table were very small, and those served immediately afterwards between 2 & 4 times the size. The top table looked, at the second wave of desserts arriving on tables other than our own, aghast & astonished, the dismay palpable & becoming voluble. The provision of seconds in the dessert field mollified disgruntlement & our states ameliorated.
An after-dinner meeting with Representatives of the North American Federation of Guitar Circles, Sr. Nunez, Director of Guitar Craft & The League of Crafty Guitarists in Europe & South America, and Dr. Mike, Guitar Craft Representative for the UK. Various future plans & options considered. For some time I have been requesting, of those with early & ongoing Guitar Craft experience, to write their personal histories of Guitar Craft. Currently, the only widely available account of an early course (of which I am aware) is that of Eric Tamm; this is an excellent chapter, for me the best chapter, in his book.
Meeting with Beginners at 21.00.
22.26 Comments were invited of the Beginners, sitting in an inner circle, and several were presented. A notepad was passed around the Circle, to the left, everyone wrote their name, the names were put into the Director’s Hat & pulled out; placed on the floor in groupings of varying sizes, determining groups of player/s, including sextet, quintet, quartet, trio, duet & 2 soloists, to compose, prepare & rehearse pieces for a House Performance tomorrow evening at 21.00 in the ballroom.
Insights by 2 of the SSG I were presented informally in the dining room afterwards.
A conversation with Director Nunez bringing me up to speed on various arisings.
